Periodontology is a branch of dentistry focused on the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal diseases—conditions affecting the tissues surrounding and supporting the teeth. Today, periodontal disorders are the second most common cause of tooth loss, following dental caries.

At our clinic, we offer a comprehensive range of periodontal treatments:

  • CBCT and panoramic X-ray (Pantomogram)—diagnostic imaging essential for accurate identification of periodontal problems.
  • Ultrasonic subgingival calculus removal—removal of tartar below the gum line using ultrasonic instruments.
  • Closed and open curettage (root planning)—smoothing the root surface and removing deep subgingival tartar that cannot be eliminated with ultrasonic tools.
  • Bone defect regeneration—rebuilding bone around the tooth to reduce the risk of tooth loss.
  • Free gingival grafting—performed in cases of deep gum recession to restore aesthetics in the anterior teeth and protect exposed root surfaces from the oral environment.

The most common clinical signs suggesting a patient may need periodontal care include:

  • Elongation of the crowns of the teeth
  • Exposure of tooth necks
  • Tooth sensitivity
  • Reddened gums or purulent discharge from gum pockets
  • Tooth mobility not caused by trauma or caries
  • Gum overgrowth
  • “Gummy smile”
